About The Dog & Caboose
We're not hobbyists. We're dealers.
We buy collections, test everything, price it fairly, and move it fast.
And we're really good at it.
How We Got Here
We started because we saw an opportunity: collectors looking to sell, families clearing out spaces, and a market that needed someone who could handle volume professionally.
We learned trains by handling thousands of them. We know what runs, what doesn't, what's valuable, and what's common. We've become experts at this specific thing through years of hands-on experience.
We're straightforward about what we do, and that means we can give you a fair price for a collection and turn it around quickly.
What Makes Us Different?
How We Work Smarter
Behind the scenes, we've set up systems that help us work faster and price more accurately than most dealers.
We've kept records of over 10,000 of our own sales over the years—what sold, for how much, and how fast. That hands-on experience means we know what items are actually worth, not just what a price guide says.
Every item in our warehouse gets a label with a scannable code, so nothing gets lost or mislabeled. Our inventory stays organized, which means we can find what you need quickly and get it shipped the same day.
We're not just collectors who sell trains on the side. We've put real work into running this like a proper business—and that's how we give you better service and honest prices.
Maybe it's a bit much for a model train business. But it works.
Who We Are
We're a warehouse operation that specializes in model trains. We're the folks other dealers call when they have too much inventory. We're the team families trust when they need help with a collection.
We're not the ones at the train show with the layout. We're the ones in the back with the boxes—and we like it that way.
